The rooms at Hostal Santa Maria City are cozy and comfortable, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. I felt right at home as soon as I stepped inside. I loved that some rooms have balconies, providing a perfect spot to enjoy the beautiful views and soak up the sun. The private bathrooms with showers were a nice bonus, ensuring convenience and privacy during my stay. The tile/marble floors in the twin room added a touch of elegance, while the air conditioning kept me cool and comfortable. The double room with a balcony and seating area was a fantastic choice. I enjoyed relaxing on the balcony and taking in the surrounding sights and sounds. The overall cleanliness and attention to detail in the rooms, including the fresh bed linen and towels, made for a truly pleasant stay.
Personally, I would have preferred if all rooms came with a seating area. However, I understand that this is a subjective preference and others may not find it important.

The rooms at Hostal Santa Maria City are cozy with a beautiful balcony in some. It felt great to wake up and enjoy the fresh breeze. The double room was spacious and comfortable, with a seating area to relax and unwind after a long day. The air conditioning was perfect to beat the heat of Santa Marta, keeping us cool and refreshed throughout our stay. The tile/marble floor added a touch of elegance to the twin room, making it feel clean and inviting. We loved that the rooms came equipped with bed linen and towels, saving us the hassle of bringing our own.
Personally, I didn't find much use for the seating area in selected rooms, but some guests might enjoy it.

The value for money at this hostel was excellent. The room was comfortable with air conditioning and a private bathroom. The location was great, close to the city center and only a few minutes' walk away. The staff were friendly and the owner was extremely helpful, providing us with all the information we needed about the city.
Breakfast delights could be improved with a wider variety of options.

I recently stayed at Santa Maria City hostel in Santa Marta for a few days and it was a fantastic experience. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful, giving us great advice for exploring the city. The location was perfect, with a short walk to a lively square with amazing restaurants and bars. The facilities were great too, with a kitchen and washing machine available for use. The private room with a balcony was spacious and comfortable, making us feel right at home. The icing on the cake was the lovely roof terrace with stunning views of the city.
Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Great terrace, free WiFi, helpful ticket service, close to Simon Bolivar Park, Lipe Beach, and Playaca Beach.
Gas smell in the air, cockroaches and ants in the kitchen, nasty toilet, no WiFi or TV on the second day, no key for my room. What a delight!

The staff were helpful and friendly, always willing to assist us during our stay. The location of the hotel was convenient as it was close to the bus stops for Minca and Tayrona Park.- The hotel had good facilities such as a small kitchen, laundry service, and reliable wifi.
It was difficult to locate the hotel initially as there was no sign on the door. The lack of staff presence made it feel more like an Airbnb than a hostel.
